About Studio 608

Studio 608 is a creative space located in Central Library that gives Vanderbilt University students, faculty and staff the opportunity to explore new modes of audio storytelling. It is a space for experimentation, shared scholarship, research, training, and building community. Studio 608 is closely aligned with the goals and mission of the McGee Applied Research Center for Narrative Studies, which aims to equip individuals with the essential skills and knowledge required to adeptly navigate and critically assess narratives in the dynamic media landscape of the 21st century. Through innovative research endeavors, collaborative educational initiatives, and active engagement with the community, the center is helping build a future where media literacy becomes a cornerstone for informed and empowered citizenship.

Studio 608 can be used to record conversations, interviews, panel discussions, and other formats that capture diverse perspectives and experiences within the university community. Potential uses include podcasting for course assignments; creating Immersion Vanderbilt projects; capturing oral histories; and sharing research with the global community.
